Sales Period Descriptions and Information

Do It Yourself

Before: After you’ve booked your sales period, you’ll get logins to our pricing system. You’ll mark the prices in the system yourself and once that’s completed, you can pick up the price tags and their attachments from our store. Attach the price tags to your clothes at home and bring your items in when the sales period starts.

During: We’ll make sure your sales rack looks tidy, so you don’t need to worry about that! You can come restock it at any time.

After: When your sales period ends, you’ll need to empty the rack and collect unsold items.

Detailed description of our Do It Yourself -sales periods in the menu below:

  • On a Do it Yourself-sales period you will price your items and come set up the sales rack yourself. The sales rack is one meter wide and includes a shelf for 4-5 pairs of shoes. In addition to clothes, you can bring in accessories that can neatly hang on your sales rack, such as bags and scarves. We will make sure your sales rack looks tidy every day and you can restock it at any time during the sales period. At the end of the sales period you’ll empty your sales rack and pick up the unsold items.

The price of this sales period includes hangers, pricing stickers and their attachments, and 25 alarms per 7 days. You can price your items at home and once that’s finished, you can come pick up the price tags from our store.

We recommend starting with around 50 priced items and continue pricing more if the sales are going well. You can fit around 35-50 items on the sales rack at once, depending on the season (thick winter coats can take the space of 5-7 other items)

General Info and Tips

  • Do you want to have it easier? Choose our All Inclusive -service and we'll do everything for you!

  • Sell only quality clothes and clothes you'd happily purchase yourself.

  • Don't over-fill your sales rack, keep restocking it during your sales period.

  • Favour seasonal clothes: summer clothes won't sell during winter and the other way around.

  • Please do not sell old, dirty, broken, smelling/scented or fake items. Check our terms of sale for items you can't sell with us.

  • Tag us @moodymonday_secondhand on social media so we can share your post! Note that it works only if your profile is public.

What Should You Sell With Us?

  • Only clean clothes in good condition, no stains or other defects

  • Season-appropriate clothes and accessories (like bags and shoes)

  • Items that are current and fit the trends. At the moment there's demand for
over size-cuts, high-quality natural materials and for chain-store items that are in good condition, under 5 years old, and fit the trends.

  • Brands in the highest demand: Arket, Samsoe Samsoe, & Other Stories, Weekday, Vimma, Papu, Marimekko, COS, Monki, H&M, R- collection, Uhana, Uniqlo, Levi's, R/H, Samuji.

  • Other chain-store brands also sell well if they fit the season and the cuts are trendy (for example Zara, Mango, H&M).

  • Sport brands: Aim'n, Adidas, Casall, Kari Traa, lululemon, Nike, The North Face, ICIW

  • The demand for vintage pieces varies. Some fly off of the racks, but in general you shouldn't count on your sales being profitable with only vintage items.

  • Men's clothing has separate sales racks in the stores and customers find them easily. Demand varies more than with women's items.

What’s not in demand?

  • Clothes that are over 10 years old even if they are unused. Trends change fast and this really affects the demand. Only classic cuts will sell from year to year.

  • Size XS/34 in clothes and 35/36 (or bigger than 41) in shoes have the least demand

  • Traditional evening wear (chiffon clothes, sheath dresses, evening gowns, gala dresses, strapless dresses, boleros, high heels)

  • Custom-made clothes (please don't bring custom pieces from abroad for example)

  • Clothes and items that are missing their material tags

  • Designer/expensive items that don't have authentication papers or the original sales receipts

  • Clothes that smell strongly, have animal fur/lint balls or have been in storage for a long time

  • Overpriced items & ultra fast fashion

Brands with the least demand:

Gerry Weber, Global, Cellbes, Jackpot, Promod, Karen Millen, Guess, NP, Steilmann, Anna Field, Yessica, Gabor, Voglia, Betty Barclay, Your Face, Naf Naf, In Wear, Banana Republic, J.CREW, Mexx, Tara Jarmon, b. Young, Monton, Joseph Ribkoff.
